Alcohol, Drugs, & Study Abroad
What it means: Students choosing to drink abroad must consider the consequences. There is a no tolerance policy on drug use abroad.
Who should read it: All students accepted to a program.

Sexual Harassment
What it means: Sexual harassment by or toward a member of the University of Minnesota community is prohibited.
Who should read it: All students.

Student Behavior
What it means: Students have rights and responsibilities related to education abroad.
Who should read it: All students.

Student Travel
What it means: Students must obtain approval prior to participating on study abroad programs in US Department of State Travel Advisory locations. The Learning Abroad Center will obtain approval for students on LAC programs. Colleges/departments/units will obtain approval for students on College Departmental programs. Students on affiliate or non-affiliated programs must apply for approval individually. Students are not permitted to travel to State Department Travel Advisory Level 3 or 4 countries or regions for personal reasons during program dates. Students who do so will be dismissed from the program.

Housing Policy
What it means: Students are required to live in official program housing. The housing options vary by program, so carefully review the Housing information on the About tab of your program page for more information. Housing may be organized by on-site staff and billed as part of the program fee, or housing may be chosen and paid for by the student through an on-site provider. Both of these are considered official program housing options.
