Policy Statement
Students who have selected to take one of the following:
- Global Identity: Connecting Your International Experience to your Future, FOST 3332,
- Honors: Leveraging and Understanding Global Identity through Intercultural Learning, FOST 3331H,
are required to submit the first written assignment within the first two weeks of the course or their registration may be administratively dropped by the Learning Abroad Center, per the University of Minnesota’s Mandatory Attendance policy. This will not result in a “W” on the UofM transcript.
If dropping this course would result in a student having fewer than full-time credits as defined by their program, the course will not be dropped. Students are required to maintain full-time enrollment while studying abroad.
Procedures
Throughout the term, the Learning Abroad Center will be in communication with the Global Identity course instructors regarding student participation. Students who have not submitted their first written assignment within the first two weeks of the course may be administratively dropped from the course, barring any extension granted due to extenuating circumstances, previously discussed with and approved by the instructor.
