Program-Specific Scholarships for UofM Students

CEA CAPA's Study & Intern Programs

If you study on any of the Study & Intern programs hosted by CEA CAPA (Barcelona, Dublin, London, and Sydney), you are eligible to apply for additional funding opportunities through CEA CAPA. CEA CAPA offers need-based scholarships ranging from $300–$1,000, depending on the program duration, as well as a variety of grants (Blogger and Vlogger, Diversity Advocate, Study Again with CEA CAPA) ranging from $300–$1,000.

Exchange in Norway: University of Oslo & Norwegian University of Life Sciences

If you study at the University of Oslo or the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, you are eligible for the Norwegian Centennial Travel Awards for Study Abroad. Freshman Seminars and/or First Year Students Participating in May or Summer LAC Instructor-led Programs

If you participate in Freshman Seminars or a Learning Abroad Center instructor-led May Session or Summer program while in your first year at the University of Minnesota, you are eligible for the Gerald B. & Catherine L. Fischer Freshman Seminar Abroad Scholarship. This scholarship requires an essay submission and grants awards up to $2,000.

Germany: Leading the Renewables Revolution Winter Break program

If you participate in the Germany: Leading the Renewables Revolution Winter Break program, you may be eligible for a $2,500 scholarship. Fill out the Institute on the Environment's (IonE's) required form, which includes additional evaluation questions, to apply for the $2,500 scholarship.

LAC Programs in Madrid & Toledo

If you study on any program hosted by the Fundacion Ortega-Maranon (Madrid and Toledo), you are eligible to apply for additional scholarship opportunities through an FOM and UofM partnership. This scholarship offers aid ranging from $500–$2,000 depending on the program duration. Financial need (defined as qualifying for subsidized loans) is a consideration, but not a requirement. Applications can be found in your LAC application portal.

Qualifying programs: Study & Intern in Toledo, Cross-Cultural Health in Spain, Study & Intern in Madrid, Computer Science in Madrid, and Psychology & Research in Madrid
Award Amounts: $500 (May/Summer), $1,000 (Fall/Spring), $2,000 (Academic Year)

As part of the award agreement, you may be expected to complete up to 2 program evaluation questionnaires during or after your study abroad program.

Language Immersion in China

If you participate on the Language Immersion in China program, you are eligible for CET's regular scholarships. Submit CET scholarship application materials via CET's online application process by March 1.

In addition, the Learning Abroad Center is offering an additional $500 scholarship for all UofM Chinese Flagship students for the Language Immersion in China or CET Harbin summer program. You must apply by the Learning Abroad Center's February 15 priority application deadline in order to be considered for the CET Flagship scholarship.

Study Abroad in Denmark, Study Abroad in Sweden, and Summer in Denmark & Sweden (DIS)

If you participate in any program offered by DIS, you are eligible to apply for scholarships offered by DIS.
