The data below include all undergraduate students who participated in a learning abroad program through the Learning Abroad Center or Carlson Global Institute or registered their University-purpose travel through the GPS Alliance.

*Data shows the numbers of majors and minors in each college who participated in a learning abroad program. The sum of the college numbers is greater than the total number of UMTC students who went abroad that year because a student will be counted more than once if they have a major or minor in more than one college.

Scholarships

1,419 scholarship applications were submitted by students, of which 216 were awarded a scholarship by the LAC (2023–24).

Pre-Health Student Resource Center Data

In January 2024, Pre-Health Student Resource Center looked at the matriculation rates into health profession programs for students who studied abroad compared to those who did not study abroad. Students who study abroad have statistically significant higher rates of acceptance* than those who do not. 
 
(*Rates of acceptance of admission into health professions programs- Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Podiatry, Dentistry, Medicine, Physician Assistant, Speech/Language, Optometry, Pharmacy, Public Health, and Veterinary Medicine)
