American Floral Endowment Floriculture/Horticulture Scholarships

The Endowment supports educational programs focused on attracting young people to the industry, and educational endeavors to identify and solve industry needs and/or challenges. AFE offers floriculture scholarship and paid internship scholarship programs to assist students interested in the floriculture/horticulture profession. All scholarships are provided as cash awards, ranging from $300 to $4,000 with checks issued jointly in the name of the recipient and the college or institution he or she will be attending in the fall. Each student who has won a scholarship will be sent a notification letter by U.S. mail. Scholarship decisions will be made by August of each year. All applications and supporting documents are due by May 1 each year and can be completed online through the online AFE Scholarship application.

Other Eligibility

Open to upper-level undergraduate or graduate students. Must have plans to work/study outside of the country in the field of floriculture or horticulture. Preference given to those planning to work/study six months or longer. 

You Must... 

* Be pursuing a career that is in a FLORICULTURE or HORTICULTURE-related field. 

* Be a CITIZEN OR RESIDENT OF THE U.S. OR CANADA-or be enrolled in an accredited educational institution in the U.S. or Canada. 

* HAVE A MINIMUM 2.0 GRADE POINT AVERAGE to be considered for most scholarships. (Applicants with lower grade point averages may be considered if they have otherwise outstanding qualifications or extenuating circumstances.)
