Program Structure

IES is an affiliated program. You receive resident credit for the courses you take. Your grades count toward your University of Minnesota GPA and each course appears on your transcript. More information can be found in the Academics Policy.

Coursework

Semester / Academic Year Programs

Milan:

Italy Today Enroll in Italian language courses plus area studies courses taught in English for beginning and intermediate students, or courses taught in Italian for advanced students. With sufficient Italian language skills, you may take regular courses at one of various local institutions. 

Music: Tradition & Innovation Music instruction is available at the Accademia Internazionale della Musica.

Study Rome: Language & Area Studies

Typical credits: 30 for academic year; 15 for fall or spring semester
