Initialize your University internet account by going to the Manage Your University of Minnesota Account web page. Select the "First Time Student Users" link. Enter your Social Security number, your seven-digit University student identification number that was provided previously in an e-mail, and your birth date. Next, create a password for your account and then click the "Submit Form" button. An "Account Initiation Successful" page will appear that lists your unique X.500/Internet user ID and other information about your account. Print out this record of your user ID and password for future reference.

If you experience problems while initiating your internet account, please contact our account help staff at abroadra@umn.edu.
