Funds are available for scholarships on all four campuses of the University. Each campus administers their own scholarship process, and you apply to your home campus for scholarships, no matter which program you've selected.
Scholarships are awarded based on basic eligibility criteria and an essay. Complete a University-Wide Study Abroad Scholarship Application, and attach the essay.
Scholarship Essay
Applicants include a typed one-page, double-spaced essay with one-inch margins and 12 pt. font. Name, student ID, and scholarship title must be placed in the upper right-hand corner. Essays will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Explanation of the impact of study abroad on personal goals
- Explanation of the impact of study abroad on academic goals
- Explanation of the impact of study abroad on long term goals
- Justification of selected study abroad program in a convincing manner
- Preparation for the experience
- Well written, both in terms of style and grammar
Submit the scholarship application and essay separately from your program application. Be sure to check the scholarship deadlines for the term you may be applying. Applications must be received by the Learning Abroad Center no later than 4:00 pm on the application deadline date. We do not accept applications via fax or email. There are no exceptions for late applications.
Scholarships that don't adhere to formatting and page requirements will not be accepted.
