Advising students with a disability who want to study abroad requires teamwork on the part of the Disability Specialist and the Study Abroad Advisor. The following is a list of important steps in the planning process.

- Student Checklist: Highlight of important steps in planning an international experience and to arrange for necessary accommodations.
- Student Accommodation Request Form: Students complete this form with their Disability Specialist to document what accommodations are required. The completed checklist is sent to the overseas site and then returned to indicate what accommodations will be provided.
- Accommodation Notification Letter: Confirm with the student in writing what disability accommodation(s) the overseas site has agreed to provide.
- Peer Mentors: Encourage your students to volunteer as Peer Mentors.
